After the successful launch of Sunderland first ever “Nerd club night”  Materia Junkies is set to come back on Thursday June, 7 at Venue – Sunderland.  

 

It is the only night that offers live music from local bands with a mix of anime and videogames on Venue’s big screens, cosplay, and nerdy DJ’s playing nerdy tunes.

 

This moths live acts will include Superpowerless from Leeds who are said to be the Dr. Jekyll / Mr Hyde of the 8-bit chip tune movement.

 

HarleyLikeMusic, who from his bio is a Dual-wielding Nintendo DS playing DJ genius all the way from Sheffield, to treat you all to such geeky pleasures of a Dub Step version of NyanCat, a Happy Hardcore remix of a Final Fantasy 7 song and a metal version of the Tetris Theme.

 

Finally after her debut at the Sunny Con after party  Evee Tales is to perform on the night also, to show off her burlesque dancing skills as she has fused her act with her passion for story-telling, geek culture and fantasy.

 

The Materia Junkies club night will take place on Thursday 7th June at 7pm and the first Thursday of every month thereafter. Entry to the club night costs £3 but those who come dressed as their favourite character will get in for £2- So dress up !!
