The Green Hour – “Dance The Pony Blues”
The Green Hours new EP “Dance The Pony Blues” has all of the psychedelic Rock ‘n’ Roll swagger you could want. It is a hard-hitting, raw sounding EP that reflects the energy and power of their live performances.
Each song has strong lyrics, rugged Northern vocals and an onslaught of throbbing guitars. The EP is five tracks strong any of which in sound single worthy, although personal I am torn between “Bystanders” and “Signals” as the best track off the EP.
Overall the EP has a rustic sound that captures the psychedelic garage rock sound they were going for. It is easy to listen to for it feels more experimental and effortless – there is no doubting they have took their time and worked hard to perfect their sound but the edginess of the EP makes it feel beyond cool.
